A chapter of Maine Audubon
The ethereal sounds of American Woodcock, Hermit and Wood Thrush, Common Nighthawk, and Whip-Poor-Will can be heard after sunset within the Walden Parke Preserve, a Bangor Land Trust property. Join us for an evening walk to look and listen for them, along with other crepuscular species. Mosquitoes enjoy warm evenings too, so please come prepared with insect repellent, a hat, and appropriate clothing to prevent bites. Directions: From Essex Street heading north toward Orono and Pushaw Lake, turn right onto Walden Parke Way. Take another right onto Tamarack Trail, and drive to where the road dead-ends at the Bangor Land Trust kiosk.
