PVC ANNUAL MEETING AND IBERA PRESENTATION: WOODCOCK MIGRATION IN THE GULF OF MAINE

June 12 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

Please join us to elect chapter board members and officers, followed by a presentation from the 2024 recipient of the Inez Boyd Environmental Research Award (IBERA). Rachel Darling, a Ph.D. candidate in Wildlife Ecology at the University of Maine, will present updated findings from her ongoing research on the migration patterns of American Woodcock. In addition to enhancing the scientific community’s limited understanding of woodcock migration routes, altitudes, and interactions with lighted structures at night, Rachel’s research findings may help to influence site selection for offshore wind turbines in the Gulf of Maine, so we can produce clean energy without contributing to further species declines.

Potluck dinner starting at 6 p.m.
Annual Meeting with featured speaker starting at 7 p.m.
