We'll hear about how native plantings are replacing popular exotic species in public spaces, and how the people leading these projects are fostering public acceptance of native plants in the landscape.

Winter Solstice Celebration

At this family-friendly event, we’ll feature a read-aloud of Eve Bunting’s The Night Tree, create wildlife-friendly ornaments to decorate a tree for Maine winter creatures, and hear from our friends at the Challenger Learning Center about the astronomical significance of the shortest day of the year. Warm beverages and snacks will be provided.

Winter Wildlife Tracking Walk

Come look for evidence of wildlife in the winter landscape.  We will search for signs big and small, ranging from tracks in the snow to evidence of animals feeding.  Please dress to be outdoors.
