In this program, you'll learn about regional projects that focus on reintroducing native plants to the built environment. We'll hear about how native plantings are replacing popular exotic species in public spaces, and how the people leading these projects are fostering public acceptance of native plants in the landscape.

This is a day to celebrate winter and wildlife in Maine!  We’re planning both indoor and outdoor activities for the whole family. Free for all! A full schedule of activities will be posted on the Maine Audubon website as the date approaches.

At this family-friendly event, we’ll feature a read-aloud of Eve Bunting’s The Night Tree, create wildlife-friendly ornaments to decorate a tree for Maine winter creatures, and hear from our friends at the Challenger Learning Center about the astronomical significance of the shortest day of the year. Warm beverages and snacks will be provided.
