A chapter of Maine Audubon
Can you volunteer some time to care for your local streams? Do you want to learn more about the critters that live in the water? Practice your sampling methods and macroinvertebrate identification skills at this free, hands-on training workshop. Learn how to sample a stream for science and identify all the organisms you find, in order to help professional scientists monitor water quality. Stream Explorers is one of Maine Audubon’s many community science projects, featuring aquatic insects and what they can tell us about wildlife habitat and water quality. Educational resources for classroom teachers will be available.
