A chapter of Maine Audubon
Free pizza, cookies, and beverages starting at 6 p.m.
Annual Meeting with featured speaker starting at 7 p.m.
Please join us to elect chapter board members and officers, followed by a presentation from the 2023 recipient of the Inez Boyd Environmental Research Award (IBERA). Rachel Darling, a Ph.D. candidate in Wildlife Ecology at the University of Maine, will present findings from her ongoing research on woodcock migration across the Gulf of Maine from Nova Scotia. In addition to enriching the scientific community’s limited understanding of woodcock migration routes, altitudes, and night-lighting attraction or avoidance while traversing large water bodies, Rachel’s research findings may help to influence site selection for offshore wind turbines in the Gulf of Maine, so we can produce clean energy without contributing to further species declines.
