A chapter of Maine Audubon
Please join us on a scenic boat ride to enjoy the large flocks of seabirds that gather around Isle au Haut. The island hosts a large population of wintering harlequin ducks, plus a wide assortment of scoters, eiders, grebes, loons, and mergansers. Purple sandpipers and great cormorants are seen regularly. Black guillemots are abundant, razorbills are likely, and we may come across a rarity or two! To ensure comfort, this three-hour trip is limited to 30 participants; it will fill quickly, so please register early by calling Sandi at 207-735-5436 to reserve your space. Bring snacks or lunch, warm clothing, and binoculars or camera. Meet at the Stonington ferry pier, one-half hour before scheduled trip departure. There is a toilet and a roomy heated cabin on board.
