Spring migration will soon begin. Whether you are new to birding or an experienced observer, now is the time to brush up on your field identification skills and practice new ones. Experts use visual clues such as size, shape, color, and field marks to identify birds quickly, before they can move out of sight. PVC board member Bob Duchesne will present his perennially popular slideshow tutorial, featuring scores of beautiful bird photos and some easy-to-learn, simple-to-remember tips to enhance your own rapid ID skills. He’ll also touch on the advanced tricks and techniques used by experts. By knowing exactly where and how to look for birds, you may discover species that you never knew were there, even in your own backyard.
