Beginner Bird Walk

May 21 @ 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm

Want to get into birding this spring, during migration season? Along with our weekly Friday bird walks for all skill levels, we’re offering a free bird walk for beginners only. If you’re new to birding or have never been on a bird walk before, this is a great way to get started. You’ll learn to recognize some of the more common species in our region, alongside other folks who are just as new to birding as you are!

Participants should bring binoculars if they have them. We’ll have extras available to loan out, and we’ll give some quick lessons on how best to use them. The walks are free (donations appreciated!) but please pre-register, so we can contact you if anything changes due to weather or other safety concerns.

Note: These walks are intended for true beginner birders. If you already feel comfortable birding on your own and on guided bird walks, please join us for our weekly Friday morning walks instead. We want to dedicate this time and space to help new birders look, listen, and learn as much as they can!

Please pre-register for all programs at https://maineaudubon.org/events .
