BANGOR’S BEST BIRDING (LEADERS’ CHOICE)

February 23 @ 7:30 am - 1:00 pm

Free

Winter birding has become so unpredictable! Will waves of Bohemian waxwings and finches swarm down from Canada this year? Will rare vagrants show up somewhere in our region? Will our usual river ducks stick around, or congregate elsewhere?

Your leaders will scout in advance, and plan an emissions-efficient itinerary. We’ll carpool together to places where birds are roosting, flying, and paddling in late February, all within approximately 30 miles of Bangor.

Directions: Meet at FPAC to form carpools. Bring your own beverages and snacks and dress in warm layers, including hiking boots or sturdy shoes, that will allow you to comfortably stand outside and do some short-distance walking (optional). Please call Sandi at 207-735-5436 to register, so she can call you if the weather looks too iffy on Saturday.

Saturday, February 22, 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Weather contingency date: Sunday, February 23
